Meet The Chef

“Zāboca” is the Creole meaning for “Avocado” this goes back to owner Liane’s upbringing in her home town of St.Lucia W.I. Where avocado would grow in abundance, comforting and delicious creamy soft avocado would be the main staple of any dish, significantly this is where her love for this fruit grew and the name ZābocaTree was born.


Chef Liane’s passion for cooking started in her early childhood where her mother ensured that she learnt basic life skills which would beneficial to her as an adult. Cooking was one of those major life skills which was ingrained in her as a child growing up in the beautiful island of St Lucia. Self taught, Lianes Food always brought friends and families together especially in times of celebration. From their local cultural events like Jounen Creole, Gros Islet Street Lime and fish Friday, food was always the centre of attraction and partaking in these event further grew her passion for creating local delicacy. Compounding on this her love for travelling and tasting the local traditional food from all countries has propelled her in the direction of creating a fusion of creole and international food. Her love for cooking flourished into her passion for creating fusion of delicious international delicacies intwined with traditional flavours from from her home country of St Lucia.
